UNDER THE SEA

Ia Orana, my darlings!

As we get closer to the end of this year, I would love to share with you, probably the most amazing experience we had in 2019. Swimming with some beautiful “under the sea” creatures. If you read my bucket list, you’ll find out that it’s full of animals and sea creatures in it. “Swimming with the dolphins in Mexico”, “Ride a camel in the UAE”, “Get a hug from a sloth at the Peruvian Amazon”. Well, one of those points on my bucket list was Swimming with the stingrays and sharks in French Polynesia.

So, during our stay in Hilton Moorea, we told the staff that we wanted to swim with the sharks and stingrays and they arranged a tour for us for the following morning. We were both so excited! It was a major thing on our bucket list and we were finally crossing it off. So we woke up the next morning super excited, got on a little boat and a guy drove that boat to the coral reef so we could swim with the sharks and stingrays and all these kind of beautiful tropical fish. But to be honest, as the boat was getting further and further away from the shore I was getting more and more anxious. I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to jump in the water after all. I’m telling you it looked pretty scary. Just imagine seeing that fin sticking out of the water. But I couldn’t go back home without going through with this. Without crossing this major point off my bucket list. Plus we paid a lot of money for it so we both ought to do it!

And there we were. Somewhere in the middle of the South Pacific ocean. As soon as the “captain” dropped that anchor, we grabbed our go pro, attached our dome to it and jumped into the water. And boy am I glad we did! It was the most amazing experience we ever had! I didn’t want any sharks coming near me but those stingrays were sooo lovely. No wonder they call them sea puppies! They loved our go pro and kept “kissing” it! It was sooo cute! We had so much fun, we could not get out of the water.

Anyways, enough talking and time to share some photos! I must admit. It will be super hard to top this in 2020.

Love Lucy xx
