Qasr Al Watan

Marhaba my darlings!

This is going to be our last post from our Abu Dhabi blog post series. And I kind of saved the best for last. I know the absolut “must-see” when in Abu Dhabi is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, and I do stand behind this opinion, but the place I am writing about today was our favourite Abu Dhabi tourist attraction. And I am talking about the Qasr Al Watan.

Qasr Al Watan is a new landmark that was built in 2010. It is the presidential palace and it has opened its doors to the public only in 2019. Prior to its opening to us less important people, it was only used for official purposes. Well, I’m really thankful we got to see this place. It has the most amazing architecture. Looking so beautiful on the outside with white and light blue colours and then so royal on the inside with its gold walls. I can honestly tell you that both of us were in awe as soon as we stepped foot in the palace.

I should add that Qasr Al Watan is huge. Our taxi driver dropped us off at this small building where we purchased our tickets (60 AED each, approximately 15 euros each) and then a bus took us from there to the actual Palaces premice. That bus goes from and to the Palace every 10-15 minutes so you can go back whenever you’re ready.

Anyways enough writing. It’s time for some photos! I hope you’ll get to see why we loved this place so much.

Love, Lucy xx
