Ia Orana my darlings,
I can’t believe that I’m writing the last post of 2019. Actually this is the last post of the decade. In a few hours we are going to welcome 2020 and to be honest, I couldn’t be more excited. 2019 was kind of bittersweet and even though we had some of the best days of our lives, I am actually glad it’s over. So I guess its time to say Goodbye 2019 and Hello 2020!
In December 2018, my hubby and I went to one of our favourite cafes, with our laptop and a notebook, and started talking about the year to come. We set some goals and worked really hard during the year to achieve them. We started talking about the countries we wanted to visit, the places we wanted to see and how would those places reflect on our Instagram and website. Because you can only show the true vibe of each place if you are actually having fun there. Hence, each place had to be from our bucket list and we would go there if both of us wanted to visit it.
So, we worked hard, saved some money and managed to cross Sri Lanka, Bali, Nusa Penida and two French Polynesian islands Tahiti and Moorea off our bucket list. We had the most amazing time. We gained so much from this trip and overcame so many fears. For the first time, we travelled from one country to another without going home first. That was something that scared us both. We also swam with the sharks and stingrays in the middle of the pacific ocean, something we are both really proud of. And last but most important of them all, I managed to survive a 17-hour flight. That was something super major for me. I don’t think there’s a word to describe how big this is for someone who hates planes.
So, in this post, I’ll be sharing photos from my favourite place on earth. A place I got to visit in 2019 and will be super hard to beat in 2020. And of course, I’m talking about Moorea. More specific, the photos I’m sharing below, are from the first evening we spent on the island, at the hotel we stayed in. Linareva Beach Resort Moorea. We had our own little bungalow there, we went shopping and cooked our own meals. It felt like a home away from home. But that evening, we got there after a long flight so we were kind of exhausted. So we ordered a pizza and sat near the water enjoying the most breathtaking sunset. With blacktip sharks, stingrays and all kinds of tropical fish swimming under the water. It couldn’t get calmer than this.
So I guess goodbye 2019! And 2020, try and beat this!
