Hello my darlings!
When in Bali, we stayed most of our nights in Ubud, and I believe you should do that too. Such a gorgeous area, full of restaurants, shops, and eco-friendly cafes! But most importantly we had many of the “must-visit-when-in-Bali” places close to us. And one of those places was the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary which was like a two-minute walk from the first hotel we stayed in. (Not the Udaya, just to clarify!). Actually, we were so close to the forest that we’ve been told by the hotel’s staff not to leave any windows open in our rooms because monkeys often get inside the rooms looking for a
The Monkey Forest is considered to be one of the most famous things to do in Ubud. We really liked the place, we felt like we were in the middle of a rainforest (like most places in Ubud) and it was a lovely experience. Monkeys climbing on trees, swinging on ropes and jumping on my husband! True story! He was wearing a backpack and a monkey tried to open it. Really don’t know why because we had no food in it!
Anyway, we did have a lot of fun but it is not one of the places I would visit again. It was a bit too touristy for us and we really don’t enjoy places with big crowds. Don’t get me wrong it is a super fun experience and if you’re going to Bali for the first time, visiting the Monkey Forest in Ubud should be one of those things you must do, but we just wouldn’t do this twice.
So, here are some photos of this whole experience, hopefully, you enjoyed the post!
Love, Lucy xxx
