Marhaba, my darlings,
In today’s post, I will share some photos from our visit to probably the most important building in Abu Dhabi. From all the “must visit” places in this beautiful city, this one would always be at the top. Of course, I am referring to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The largest mosque in the country. You have seen some photos of it in our latest post since our hotel (Ritz Carlton, Abu Dhabi) had a gorgeous view of the mosque at the back.
Well this time, we are taking you inside the mosque. I should tell you that like every other “tourist attraction” we visit during our travels, we went as early in the morning as we could, so we would beat the crowds. Especially if there is no entrance fee to visit which that is the case with the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. And when is a place like this one, you need to get there early. I mean, it’s a sacred place, very peaceful and when you get there, you need to actually feel it. By the way, I should mention the dress code to this place. Men cannot wear shorts and ladies rent (free) an abaya in the colour of their choice. The architecture is beautiful. We couldn’t stop taking photos. Every corner of it is art. A combination of white, blue and gold colours made this place stunning.
Anyway, I believe, whatever I say about this gorgeous sacred monument, will not give it enough justice. So, enough from me and it’s photo time!
Love, Lucy xx
