After being seven years together and two years engaged, we’ve finally decided to tie the knot in September 2016! Since we set the date, the wedding is the only thing I think about -and talk about according to my brother. I spend hours reading Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty and Brides trying to educate myself!
After all this work, I’ve decided to share my preparation with every other stressed bride that might need help. So this is what “Lace & Tulle” is all about! A section at Fashion in Suitcases that’s going to have new posts for only 7-8 months!
First things first!
Before start planning the wedding, we put a budget to the whole day. We wrote down everything we are going to need (like venue, rings, flowers, photographer, music) and we have a maximum price for every single one of them! Then we had to think about the type of our wedding. How many people are going to take part on the most special day of our life? After discussing this with our parents, we decided that we are having a cocktail and then dinner with our closest friends and family.
Let the fun begin!
When I dreamed about my wedding, I’ve always imagined that it would take place at a very minimal venue so I could add to it all the decorating details that I wanted! My fiance and I since the engagement, we really loved this place in Larnaca called Ktima Makenzy. It’s right next to the salt lake and it has the most amazing sunset for the reception. The dining hall is just the way I wanted! Small, simple and elegant! And the food? OMG! As a couple, we are both foodies so you can realize that we want that something “extra” for the food for our guests.
